Rep Selections

Congratulations to Sandy Chen and Christy Xiu for both making it through Phase I selections for the 2011, 12 year old Rep Squad.
It has been a very looooong morning with well over 50 girls contesting 25 squad positions and both girls did exceptionally well to be selected. The competition was tough.
That now makes 5 of our 13/3's selected for Rep Squads. Very nice work Michael!
To our 10's who will be trialling next week, the format will be very different from the last two sessions.
Please make sure that our 10's have plenty of food and water as it is guaranteed to be a very, very, very long day. If one or two of our families have shade tents that they could bring down on the day, it would be a great idea because it WILL be a long day for our girls and our parents.
At this point in time there are over 100 girls trialling and if my maths is any good, there will be approx 15 of our girls there.
Format will be warm up, skills session (where they will be assessed by the selection committee) and game trials. Lunch then final selections after that.
It was hot on the courts today even though the breeze was cool and parents were still in heavy winter attire. Please make sure they are in full uniform and have layers.
Once the skills sessions start, it's a parent free zone ... bring your book, crossword puzzle and/or portable hammock because you parents will be there until at least lunch time.
Congratulations again to our Fab 5! and hopefully, they will be joined by an even more fabulous 15!
Really great work girls.
I will see our 10 year old Rep hopefulls next Sunday!
