Week 15 - 10/2s (Week 7 washed out round)

posted August 14, 2010 by Carol Downing - viewed 152 times

We played the first of our washed out games today,  playing the same team as last week, the West Ryde Rovers 38. We won 22-0.

We also welcomed Maria back to the team today after she fractured and sprained her ankle during her first game with the team.

After playing this team last week, the coaches decided to mix things up from the start.  Today the aim was to give the girls, were possible, a chance to play positions that they normally don't play and  that they wanted to play.  Also, keeping in mind what positions they are trying out for in the 11yr old Development squad.

Abigail and Maria, who usually play defense had a turn at shooting  They did a fantastic job scoring 18 goals by three quarter time.   Caitlin and Katherine added 4 more goals in the last quarter.

Courtney, Isabella and Abigail all played terrific centres.   Kaysha spent all her time on court as GD for a change.  Alaina, Breanna, Caitlin, Courtney and Katherine were moved around the wings and keeper.  They all played wonderfully, really limiting the number of opportunities the Rovers had to score.

After been moved around at every quarter over that last couple of years, the girls transition very smoothly into any position that they play,

Thanks to Danielle, Jo and Sharon for doing canteen/table duty this morning.  Greatly appreciated by the whole team.

11 yrs old development day is Sunday 15th.  There is no canteen and all girls must wear their uniform.  See you all tomorrow morning bright and early!!
