What a big day it was today for 14 of our 10 year olds who stood for Representative selection. Our fabulous 14 were:

There were over 110 girls and it was nice to see our girls give it their best. Unbelievably, not all of our girls made it, but all of them gave their best effort.
Of those absolutely fabulous 14, nine of them went through to round 2 and they then played in front of selectors. Unlike our bigger girls who must go through Phase II and Phase III selections, 7 of those final 9 were selected to represent Eastwood Ryde Netball Association in 2011.
So … I am incredibly pleased to introduce our 11 year old ERNA Representatives for 2011 - Congratulations to Isabella, Kasha, Abigail, Rebecca, Jemma, Molly and Ellie. Nice work girls and great work coaches Kris, Giulia and Nicole!
Congratulations must also go to Emily, Courtney, Alaina, Breanna, Caitlin, Katherine and Emma. I know it was hard for you girls to not hear your name called out, but putting yourself up for selection is a champion effort and I want you to remember that Liz Ellis wasn’t selected for a Rep team until she was 15. You’re only 10!
I would also like to give a special acknowledgment to Emma who looked after my friend Lucy from Marsfield Bluebelles. Lucy was the only girl from her team to trial and I know that she was grateful for your friendship today.
And finally, 3 of our coaches have nominated for ERNA Rep Coaching positions in 2011: Michael, Giulia and myself. Not sure if I should wish myself good luck, but I’ve got my fingers crossed that Michael and Giulia will also get to wear the ERNA colours in 2011.
