8’s Week 16- Report

This week was our final game for the season and what a super game the 8’s had today! We played North Ryde Spirits 20, a team we had not played before and we were very closely matched by them.

There was no score for either team in the first quarter and then North Ryde scored 2 goals in the second quarter.

The Comets stepped up in the third quarter allowing our super shooter Skye to drop 2 goals in for us / North Ryde scored 1 goal.

Skye scored 1 more goal in the last quarter to make the score 3/3. It was very exciting to watch and the Comets went after every opportunity to get that ball.

Unfortunately North Ryde scored 1 more goal to win 4/3 but such a super effort by every single Comet today. Mandy was a stand out Defender today, well done also to Tanisha, Jyothi and Kathryn for their great defence. Tarsha, Genevieve, Alanah and Elicia were also fantastic team players today.

Debbie was unable to watch today due to umpiring duties but a “Special Thank You” to Debbie for all her fantastic coaching and umpiring this season. I would also like to thank Tarsha’s mum, Sharon for stepping in to coach and umpire for us this season on several occasions.

To our wonderful parents and supporters, thank you for cheering us on each week and also for getting to girls to training and games each week!

I hope the girls have had a fun first season of netball. I have loved being their manager and Debbie and I are so proud of all the girls. They always put in 100% effort with 100% enthusiasm and we hope everyone will be back to play 9’s next season!
