Hi everyone
I am writing to ask you to take the time to read the information that Danielle, our Secretary, will post over the next few days regarding:
- AGM / Committee Positions - Nominations
- Notice of Motion, and
- Early Bird Registration
The time has come to formally create some Non Executive positions with a view to sharing the load because this club will undoubtedly grow in 2011.
The Committee has proposed a Notice of Motion and we ask that you consider what is best for the club. If you have anything to offer with regard to the Motion, we would be grateful for your input, but we need to get a decision so that we can "move forward" in 2011. (My apologies for using those two words!) We don't want to tie up the evening in a massive discussion so if you've got something that you would like addressed, then please email Danielle after you have read the Motion. secretary@carlingfordcomets.com.au
Early Bird registration will also help us smooth out what is normally a nightmare, ie, registrations for the next year. While we don't like turning girls away, we also don't want to have things drag on like this year. Register early and ask your friends to do the same.
2010 has been a big year for our club and a great many lessons have been learned by our girls, coaches, umpires and committee alike. While our first year was reasonably uneventful, our second year has been phenomenal! The most pleasing thing for me is to see so many of our girls striving to achieve improvement and taking such large steps toward reaching their maximum potential. This year will be a hard year to top! But ... there's no reason why we can't!
On a personal note, it has been a very hectic year for me and as President, I can honestly say that I am surrounded by some truly inspirational people who have worked together to make this year a fabulous success and take some of the pressure from me when I needed some personal space. Thank you to my Committe, Managers and Coaches. You've all been a wonderful support.
I invite you all to our Presentation afternoon tea and hope that you will bring your families to be a part of our celebration of Season 2010. It is an important event for your daughter and siblings (not matter how bored they may be) are invited to "share the love" ... and the food. Yes ... there will be FOOD! We also have a giggle and a good laugh too. We do our best to keep the formalities to a minimum because the focus is always about our girls ... and the odd sibling too.
The Committee and I look forward to seeing you on Sunday 19 September and hope that some of you will consider taking up a Committee position in 2011.
